After many years teaching kinder and first, my classroom library is in need of books that are more appropriate for 2nd grade. My 2nd graders are ready for chapter books and higher leveled books! My classroom library needs more books that can challenge my students and provide opportunities for them to use the reading comprehension strategies we are learning. I love to read the first book of a chapter book series out loud to the class be it Magic Treehouse or Junie B. Jones and then they are hooked! They want to continue reading more books from the series and I would love to give them that opportunity.
