I am asking for multiple copies of four books including March Book 2, To Kill a Mockingbird and Batman. These books will increase both interest level and comprehension skill set for students that are below grade level. They also bring support to those that are visual learners. My readers will actively engage with the texts to make connections. Students will decode the differences in text format that signal it as narration or dialogue as well as visual thinking strategies. Readers must interpret the facial expression of characters and body language instead of reading descriptions in the text that explain their moods and tone. These graphic novels reinforce the language not replace it. This project will bring reading to life!
