As educators, we are rearing and gearing our students to be leaders in the 21st Century. Our 21st Century learners need to master more than core curriculum to be successful leaders. As a Kindergarten teacher, my job is vital in introducing skills and laying the foundation for future learning that will prepare them to be ready for the world that is globally connected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. My young learners need to be provided with the proper tools that will help lay the foundation for them become technologically smart and savvy. I would like to purchase an iPad and stylus for my students to learn to use to provide another means of demonstrating their learning and knowledge and to ultimately share their learning on media platforms, such as Class Dojo, Seesaw, and Instagram. This will not teach them to use technology properly, but it will also be empowering as it will give them the choice and voice in sharing what they feel is important in their learning journey.
