I have many active kids. Some of the ways that the classroom can be made to suit them better is to create a calming center. This center is a place they can go when they feel overwhelmed. Each item is somethings that can make the student feel more comfortable in the classroom. Coming into a new classroom can be very intimidating and overwhelming for some students. Changing the lights sets the tone for a calm environment that helps students get ready learn, while curbing some classroom anxiety. The rest of the materials all focus on breathing strategies. This helps students to take a moment and center themselves before they go back to learning.
