As members of their classroom community, my students are able to move to a location in the classroom that works best for them. Their classroom work areas include tables of various heights or seats on the carpet. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. When students are given the opportunity to self-select a work area in the classroom, they are more engaged in learning, more focused to the task at hand, and take pride in their work and the classroom. The ball chairs will allow my students to wiggle while they work. The portable lap desks will allow students to work in different areas of the classroom. The activity table will provide additional work space for students to work in small group with teachers
