We all use so many different ways to communicate. We use our words, gestures, texts, emails and more! Many of my students have complex language and communication needs. My students who use devices to communicate benefit from seeing a model of how to use their device to communicate. Just like babies imitate language and sounds after adults, my students will be able to imitate language and communication when it is modeled in the way they communicate. I will use this iPad and durable case to be able to model communication in the same way that my students "speak". Many students missed this modeled language via alternative means (e.g., iPads) due to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This iPad, case and pencil will allow me to thoroughly assess and model language in the same way that my students with complex communication needs communicate!
