This online course will help me professionally in my work with students with autism in Lake County, Florida by enhancing my understanding of learning styles, communication, and behavior with this population. My goal is to then share this knowledge with teachers and staff who work with these students daily to provide understanding of why behaviors may be occurring in the classroom and practical strategies for attaining individual goals. Although I have a great deal of knowledge in this area, this course provides current treatment methods and evidence based practice that will further my work with all students and particularly students on the autism spectrum.
