One thing that my students always bring up is how excited they are to one day use their percussion skills to play on the drumline in high school. We introduce our students to drumline by having one night where they get to play at a football game with the high school band! The kids go wild when they see the drumline play and become so eager to one day be in their shoes. I'm starting this project because I would like to bring this style of drumming to my students as early as possible. I would love for my students to have their own drumline on campus to play for school events such as pep rallies, basketball games, fundraisers, you name it! This project would begin the first steps in furnishing a full set of drumline equipment at my campus. Not only would my students love to play on their own equipment, but it also would challenge them to learn a new style of drumming and get them prepared to be part of the competitive world of the high school marching band. This will be a great recruiting tool for students to try something in the music arts and stick with it! I know this equipment is expensive and a lot to ask for, but my students would be so appreciative and grateful to have their own drumline to be able to represent Parkland Middle School with pride!
