As a physical education teacher, I teach and provide my students with opportunities in class that help them to value and understand and the importance of physical fitness and health. The materials that I am requesting through this project will help fill ‘Take home PE Bags’. These ‘Take Home PE Bags’ will be filled with equipment for students to use with friends and family over the weekend. Every week 1 student in each grade level will be selected to take home a 'PE Bag'. Included in the bags will also be a notebook, where students need to write a short paragraph about how they used the equipment, who they may have used it with and share any creative games they came up with. These bags will hopefully motivate students, their friends and families to make time to get together and play. Through play we tap into physical, mental, social and emotional components of life long-fitness and over all health.
