Reading is the gateway to a successful future. Reading skills are needed in everyday life: from social media, to careers, to even road signs. For children from a underserved community and low socioeconomic status to thrive in the future they need every advantage for learning to read. These books will be used to develop reading skills and the love of reading. My students will use these books to prepare themselves inside and outside the classroom. They will be able to take these books home in their book bags and read them in the classroom. Kindergarten builds the foundational skills they will need in every other grade.
