A periodic table of elements is vital for all aspects of Science. Students will start learning about it in my Physical Science class, setting the foundation for future science classes. When discussing atomic weight, mass number, and the different groupings of elements based on their chemical properties, it would be beneficial to have a wall chart to easily access and point out what I'm referencing. Many students learn better seeing something instead of just being told. Having this wall chart would provide those students with additional resources to help facilitate their learning. Also, having a periodic table of elements wall chart hanging in my classroom gives students something to look at. The more they look at it, the more they are learning it.
A human skeleton will be used in many areas of my classes. I will be able to use it to help students in both of my Biology and Anatomy classes. This 3D model will allow students to have hands-on learning by actually seeing the bones and physically touching them, providing visuals to help students grasp some of the more difficult aspects of the class.
Both of these items will help keep my students engaged as we progress through the school year. I believe these items will help keep students interested in science and motivated to join the scientific field after they graduate high school!
