Many of my students need assistance in obtaining an instrument for band. These children, whose families struggle financially, simply do not have the option to rent or to place a down payment on an instrument. I have borrowed as many unused instruments as possible from other schools in my district, and I am still coming up short! With your help, my students will not only have the opportunity to become incredible musicians, but will also have the chance to develop their minds, bodies, and sense of creativity. The snare drum and snare stand will be shared among three young men in 6th grade, giving them an actual drum to rehearse on rather than snare pads. The clarinet and the flute will be played by a young man and young woman who have had not had an instrument since the start of the school year. In addition, these instruments will be available for use by future students! Truly, your contribution to this band program is so much more than just the price of an instrument.
