At our school we share technology. And sharing may be caring, but some kids just need that extra tech stimulus! While our general population is great with the Chromebooks that visit our classrooms, some students have special needs, and one of those needs is a touchscreen! This iPad would stay with the students in my classroom and be used specifically with students who have difficulty and are working on their motor skills, as well as those students who require alternative curriculum as a way to explore phenomena. Every student deserves science; every student deserves to feel motivated; every student deserves a lesson tailored to their needs - especially my full inclusion students! Putting an iPad in their hands would allow for a tactile exploration of science that simply is not possible right now. Some experiences are off limits for students who need help with motor skills. Does that mean they don't get to engage with science? I say no! And I hope that you will agree with me and help get apps in front of my students that will help them point, drag and drop, match, and be excited by science. There are so many interactive games and experiences out there that I want to give them!
