As a teacher I expose my students to different cultures, and since I cannot fly them around the world, the best alternative is to take them on a journey through books. I believe that the “Where is…? series is perfect for this endeavor as they provide information about fascinating countries and landmarks around the world. These books are age-appropriate and have up-to-date information for my students. They are great reads, and are also great resources for me as a third grade ELA teacher, as they can be used to explore many of the third grade ELA standards.
