This project will help me supply my middle school students with manipulatives. Jo Boaler states "that all math learners benefit from mathematics that is visual, concrete, and modeled in multiple representations." These manipulatives will help my students to "physically create, draw, and construct mathematics to build deep understanding of what concepts represent and mean." I hope that these tools will help my students be successful in my 7th grade pre-algebra class, a class that is too often overlooked when considering manipulatives. It is my hope to supply my students with materials that will help them visually understand middle school mathematics rather than just relying on an abstract ideas to teach them.
