My students will have a new excitement for reading when they see new books in the library that spark their individual interests! Many students are below grade-level when it comes to literacy. By acquiring more current books that get students excited to read, they will learn and grow as independent readers. They will become more confident in their literacy skills. This is essential for their educational growth. My goal is to provide new books for every child in my classroom to take home and read with their loved ones. As a new teacher, my leveled library is limited. Although many books are old and are from any donations I could take or any books I could afford to purchase, students still find a way to smile when they pick up any book they choose to take home. With hope in their eyes they ask, "Could we get more Magic Tree House series, and Who Was... books?" My response is always "of course!" I am dedicated to finding a way to make these student's literary dreams a possibility!
