We need a classroom easel and lap boards to make learning more interactive and accessible for all students. A classroom easel is where students gather during whole-group instruction. We currently do not have an easel in our classroom and it will be beneficial in enhancing student learning. The easel will be used to store valuable resources used for whole group instruction, such as dry erase markers, big books, chart paper and magnetic manipulatives. The easel will be used as a stand for big books, a place to display anchor charts, a whiteboard for teacher-led instruction, as well as student participation and a magnetic surface. With a classroom easel, and students having their own lap boards, I will be able to make lessons more interactive for all students. Students having their own lap boards is beneficial during whole group instruction and during literacy and math rotations. Students will use the lap boards during math to answer problems and share their work with other students. The lap boards also are lined and this will be used during word study and writing. When students show their work and thinking on lap boards, I will be able to provide immediate feedback to students and it will make learning more meaningful. The classroom easel and lap boards will allow students better access to what is being shared and displayed in the lessons.
