As a newer teacher, I have to build my own classroom library, and I don't have the financial resources to get culturally diverse representations in books. In my classroom, I have a melting pot of different ethnicities, and I want to give them the opportunity to see faces similar to their own in these inspirational books that educate and teach kindness. Although we are going remote for this Fall, my second graders will still love story time, and I can't wait to read these over video conferences until they can read these books in person, when they are in my classroom!
