These books will enhance our print-rich classroom and allow my students to learn and practice reading comprehension strategies every day during independent reading. These books will help them build the metacognitive skills necessary to transition from learning to reading to reading to learn and prepare them to become more independent as they transition to middle school. I want to provide these kids with books that will ignite their curiosity! We need more books! My students only get to visit the library once every six school days, so our classroom library is of utmost importance to their learning! This project will help immensely with ensuring the success of my students as they learn the reading strategies that will set them up for success for year-end testing and prepare them for fifth grade and beyond.
