Working as a school psychologist at a Baltimore City Public High School has taught me that not all students are equally prepared to function well at school. Many students with whom I work do not have organizational skills because they have never had the materials to management their materials. Additionally, students are often hungry, regularly asking for food and drinks. In the past I have bought supplies for students but I am looking to start a school supply closet and basic food pantry for student in need. Many people believe that tax dollars and parents/caregivers should be responsible for supplying these materials. Regardless of what should or should not happen, I am asking for your donations because on a regular basis students come to me hungry and ill prepared. Donating will allow me to start a campaign at my school to meet students basic needs, which would allow them to learn and eventually become better more productive citizens.
