Preparing students for life beyond the classroom walls is my ultimate goal, as is finding fun and functional activities that work to meet their social/communication goals, and help to integrate them in the school community. Students in my class need skills that will help them work independently, acquire and hold new skills, to support their success.. This coffee cart will support students as they develop skills in numeracy and finance, social skills and peer communication, operations and maintenance (including personal hygiene), as well as improve general soft skills and employ-ability. Because we will (hopefully) be making a profit through this enterprise, funds will return to the students and benefit them directly. Our proceeds will be used for the following: reinvesting into the business to expand our product line and upgrade our supplies;field trips; and the purchase of learning games not covered in the regular classroom budget.
