Technology can do so many things these days. Students love them, especially when they have fun websites to use. These ten tablets on my DonorsChoose.org project will be essential in our classroom for many reasons. Currently, we have three computers in the classroom with 26 students. At the moment, we have a rotation every morning for three students to work on Prodigy or take an AR test. Some students can only play Prodigy once every two weeks. We have three computers inside the classroom and only five days a week. Limited computers cause 11 students each week to not get included in our weekly rotation. My students LOVE Prodigy; they enjoy competing against other students in the classroom to get questions right and even other students in the state. The program differentiates based on their performance allowing students to work on the concept they may have missed over the years. Gaps are hard to fill over the years if the proper strategies have not been in place. The tablets will help my students work on concepts they may be rocky with from the past, but also help my advanced students work beyond fifth grade. Purchasing these tablets would benefit all my students to rise to their full potential and offer them the opportunity to practice and improve their skills. We would be so appreciative of any and all help you would be willing to provide for us.
