Many of our students suffer from anxiety. I am seeing it more and more in the students and performing has become a challenge for many of them. As I started to explore the different parts of theatre, this posed especially challenging when trying to explore their voice and how to use it expressively. I started to use puppets and all of a sudden the students came alive! I saw them finally feeling safe to explore! I got to see kids stuck in their shell start to come out and feel safe to perform. It was astounding! I am excited to see when we explore more with puppetry and this project how much more I could accomplish.

About my class
