With the beginning of the school year going to be approaching at any time, I want to have plans in place to help students stay on task as much as they can. I have found that students have been needing more and more help redirecting their focus. It is not always as simple as calling their attention. Sometimes the best thing for them is giving them a fidget to help with their concentration. When students use fidgets, it helps activate different parts of their brain. For some, it is a needed activation for them to be able to focus, but for others it could help in other ways. Fidgets have also helped with students who may be struggling with stress or anxiety. Having these tools readily available for my students will create less time outside of class and more time within class, focusing on tasks at hand.
