My school is a Title I school with little funding. About 70% percent of the school is on free or reduced lunch. Our goal is to provide students with the skills to be a 21st century learner. Space Camp provides my students with this opportunity. It allows to see the world outside of what is Zionville, NC. At Space camp, my students will be able to build their own rockets and launch them; explore the Space Museum, and direct their own mission. Space Camp provides my students with the opportunity to explore careers they never thought they could. It provides my students the opportunity to see that they can achieve anything. At Space Camp, my students are provided the experience of hands on technology experiments and rides. It puts their mathematics skills to the test by making calculations on mass, density, and atmospheric pressure on an object. Students will get to feel what it is like to walk on the moon through the anti-gravity chair. Space Camp truly opens up their world to brand new career fields, experiences, and most of all: memories that will last forever.
