This project combines students' own interests, experiences, and unique voices with research skills in a project-based, authentic learning experience. Using Soundtrap for Education, students will work in groups to choose a topic of interest, research it, and make a podcast telling their peers about what they found. Soundtrap allows students to work in groups, with teacher assistance and monitoring as needed. Along the way, students will be interviewing each other, family members, faculty and staff members, hearing about their diverse backgrounds, experiences, and opinions. By engaging students in topics of their own choosing, and incorporating views and perspectives from outside the classroom, this project gets kids actively involved in their own learning Finally, they'll become mixed media editors and broadcasters, bringing together their research, their recordings, and their own voices to make a podcast to share with classmates and the school community.
