We are in desperate need of new, reliable two-way radios for staff. This project will allow us to purchase two radios to replace the oldest, virtually inoperable, ones we have. This doesn't directly affect student learning, but it does affect them indirectly. Students need to feel safe and know that we can communicate their needs to the office or administration in times of urgency. The rigor of our International Baccalaureate Program is stressful enough for our students, they should not have to worry about safety too. As part of the Physical and Health Education Department, we see the majority of the students in our school. We also spend a great deal of time outdoors in view of the back fence line. Whether for intruders, student issues or medical emergencies, these radios are our lifeline when we are out with our classes. Reliable two-way radios will ensure we have communication in case of emergency so we can keep our students safe! Please help us keep our KCIA Pioneers safe and healthy! Thank you!
