Funding this project will enrich my students experience in math and encourage 100% participation. As math projects are implemented in the classroom, students will be able to keep an organized portfolio as well as present using notebooks and folders. Students will be empowered with the supplies needed to help them feel like they could be successful. Ultimately, the goal in obtaining funding is to facilitate an inspiring and fun yet challenging classroom environment by making real-world connections to math while fostering 21st Century skills. A very crucial tool for making real world connections will be students having chromebooks for exploration and research. The school does provide the chromebooks but at least 3 to 5 of my students did not receive a chromebook last year. So it would be great if a could purchase several chromebooks for the classroom. Other important tools are a color printer and a laptop. These tools will enable students to print out photos for their portfolio. I do not have a printer in my classroom. Having a color printer will enable me to post visual samples of photos when teaching math and enable students to submit work in their portfolio or in their presentations in color. Card stock paper and rulers would also be purchased in order to build 3D models when needed.
