I am seeking funding for multiple math manipulatives and resource materials for teaching number sense to my first and second graders in Title I Math. While a contribution to this project will purchase these number sense resources, in the long term it will be an investment which boosts my students' academic achievement in both math and science. Having a firm grasp on number sense is foundational for success in math. These requested materials will allow my students to explore this concept with hands-on manipulatives that are both engaging and educational. The item that I am most excited about utilizing with my students is a four foot by five foot floor mat of the hundreds chart. It also includes oversized dice which prompt the children to explore various number patterns on the chart. I know they will love this! Thank you for helping my students to develop a deeper understanding of number sense!
