With a new course added to our curriculum, the budget is very restricted. Our semester-long class has only three class novels and desperately needs the option of small lit circle materials. This assortment will greatly expand our classroom library and allow my students to read the rest of the civil rights story in John Lewis’ March Book 2 and 3 (Book 1 is already a class novel) or choose from the companion set of Boxers and Saints, two novels that are interchangeable allowing for double the reading time. The third lit circle grouping is a wonderful fantasy foray for those students who need the opportunity for high interest escapism in their reading selection.
