Not all students can learn best in a chair and desk. Some prefer to sit on the floor or rock in a chair. Flexible seating provides student with a choice to decide how they learn best. Think about when you read a book. Would you rather sit in a stiff chair or curl up in a bean bag? We can't expect all students to learn with chairs and desks when we choose different options each day to do our best work. By donating to our project, you will help my students stay actively engaged in their learning and give them a choice in where they work. Each student is unique; and therefore, their seating preferences will be different. Some will prefer some movement, while others might prefer laying on the floor. Others may prefer to work near peers, while some want to work alone. Having a wide variety of flexible seating choices will ensure that each of my students has a place where they feel comfortable to do their best learning.
