By setting the Morning Meeting tone with a calming classroom rug, students will be able to review letter names and have personal space, all while being surrounded by soothing colors and designs. Students already enjoy spending time alongside each other, so this will provide them with an extra comforting space for reading books, building structures, and playing games. If students are able to have more choice in "how" they explore and learn, then they will have greater motivation in the learning process. The increased flexible learning spaces that will be set up methodically around the room, will help students access learning in a more meaningful and self-directed way. In order to be able to fully reach my ever-changing population of learners in the classroom, it is important that I continue to be creative in setting up the learning environment. The furniture additions will provide just the right amount of additional flexibility that my students are often seeking!
