These items will help support our sensory classroom. All of our students learn best through sensory support during learning or free time. I want to provide a variety of materials that will allow my students to grow as leaners. For example, sensory materials can be used in different ways to accommodate all students. Sensory toys help my students to sit and engage without being over stimulated. The alphabet and number sets will support my autistic students who often need items in their hands while learning. These items will help my students to self-sooth and control their emotions while learning. I’m requesting alternate seating to help my students wiggle and feel calm while sitting on the carpet. Due to some of my student autism, muscular dystrophy and intellectual disabilities, it is difficult for my students to focus and not feel anxious while listening to whole group lessons. By donating to this project you are donating to help young kindergarten learners who need these materials to become successful in a school setting.
