As a way to give some life to taking notes, I have my students keep an interactive notebook. This is a spiral notebook that we not only take traditional notes in but also glue in foldables and other types of interactive notes. Things that stand out to help students retain information. Making math interactive is a lot of work and time, but the kids enjoy it and it is worth all the time and money. The other part of the class involves different interactive activities, whether its task cards, a puzzle, or some kind of game. Doing these types of activities allows students to help each other out which benefits all students.
