This year I got the privilege of looping up with my students. This means that while the end of their 5th grade year was less than ideal due to COVID, they had the comfort of knowing when we came back for 6th grade I would be their teacher again! But in doing so, I was changing both grade levels and classrooms, which as you can imagine comes with an immense need for items to make the classroom warm and inviting.
My goal with this project is to have science tools and materials to teach virtual science experiments to my students, with hopes of using the tools when we return to the classroom.
Moving from 5th to 6th grade, there is a huge shift in the Next Generation Science Standards that are taught and I want to make sure my students can have the tools to become scientists! I believe the materials in this project will help promote science comprehension because they transform learning the standards into hands-on activities! The cardstock and printer ink will be used to make interactive science notebooks for note-taking.
