Our scholars are provided the opportunity to take dance classes regularly. They love the chance to step away from their desk and work in a movement-based art form. As they walk into the dance studio their eyes light up with the potential they can achieve and the joy they will experience. Since the students are walking into a real dance studio with a mirror and real marley floor, they need to take off their shoes in order to protect the finish on the dance floor. Immediately middle school anxieties emerge from students who fear smelly feet or simply the unique experience of being barefoot. Many have overcome their uncertainty to receive high reward and experience in dance class, but many scholars still struggle with this request. That's why I'm asking for socks. I'd like to provide every scholar with a pair that can be in the dance studio for the days they forget to wear socks or the days that they want to change into a clean pair of socks. These socks will get all my dancers moving in the space quicker so that we can focus more on dancing!
