These materials will be used not only for the students that I support for Reading Intervention but also by my colleagues for their tiered instruction. We really take an "all hands on deck" approach in supporting our learners. Access to a variety of books is what makes a child a reader. These books support our K-3 phonics instruction which an essential component to supporting students' growth in their own reading skills. In addition to the books requested, there are supplemental supplies that support students' skills in phonemic awareness and letter-sound correspondence, which are truly the building blocks to learning to read. I have seen how these books support readers in ways I didn't think were possible. These additional resources will enrich our structured literacy lessons which will then help students grow into able, confident readers.
