My students are active learners and they learn best when they are out of a traditional desk and chair environment. My students have a few options for flexible seating in my room already and they love them. I rotate the few exercise balls that I have in my room each week between students that earn them. But I see as the week progresses, my students with the balls are the ones that focus and exceed more that week because they are not confined to their chairs. I want to be able to give my kids an environment to be able to learn and move their bodies. They are 9 years old and I am not expecting them to sit still in their seats and be able to learn math or reading!
