This iPad will allow my student to access material in a variety of ways with greater engagement and enthusiasm for learning vocabulary, social interaction, and articulation skills in a fun and unique way. Therapy is a lot of drill work causing it can get boring for student which impacts their participation. The iPad can be used to improve articulation by allowing students to record their errors and listen to their productions and increase self-awareness. For language skills, I can use apps that are constantly updating and increase engagement by targeting skills with fun activities. I have a high number of students who are non-verbal and are not able to interact with peers and teachers. The iPad has assistive communication apps that are specifically designed for students with severe communication needs and allow them to speak, sometimes for the first time.
