With handheld GPS units my students will learn to navigate in the real world without internet. Through geocaching, and orienteering my students will learn how our world is connected through a network of satellites. This should foster appreciation for the other technology they use on a daily basis and the education that went into the technological wonder that is the modern world. Additionally far to many students have expressed their inexperience with anything in nature. With GPS activities my students will experience the outdoors in a new way. This experience can carry with them into adulthood and build strong, healthy, habits.
