My visually impaired students are placed in regular classes at a Title 1 charter school in Lake Wales and because of their low vision, do not have the ability to see the clock on the wall when doing a timed math drill, writing prompts, or any other assignment. This puts them at a disadvantage because they're not sure if they're running ahead of time or behind the clock. These extra large timers can be placed on their desk and allow my students to periodically check to see how much time they have left, whether it's one minute or several minutes.
