My students will have a daily healthy snack as a class. They need fuel to keep them engaged in academic learning. Not all of my students are able to bring a daily snack from home. Eating is also an opportunity for social time at school. My students will be engaging in social language while they eat together as a classroom community. In our classroom, we also share responsibilities such as serving each other snack. My students will have the chance to be a "snack helper" and use measuring cups to portion out snacks to peers. Yes, snack time also helps us practice our growing math skills!
