Please help us purchase a 10 month, class set of Scholastic's Action Magazines. Scholastic's Action Magazines are written at a high school interest level, but at a lower Lexile level. This is perfect for my Beginner English Language Learners! My students are still learning about important and relevant topics, but the input is more comprehensible for them. This comprehensible input is extremely important in these magazines because they are full of both fictional stories and non-fiction articles. This allows my students to cultivate their vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension in both genres. Action Magazines also provide questions and activities that go with each article and story, allowing my students to go deeper and think critically about what we have read.
