This project holds a special place in my heart because it gives an amazing group of students the ability to reach for the stars while building self esteem and independence. Many of my students have low muscle tone that affects their ability to sit appropriately on the floor or in a chair. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. The benefits of having this alternative seating include increased attention and concentration, better posture, a greater awareness of health and wellness, and increased ownership over their learning. These students will face challenges myself and other students never will, yet they never let it stop them. This project gives me the ability to provide them with the necessary resources they need to be successful in school and the workforce. Every student deserves to have the same opportunities, no matter what. Please help my students benefit from alternative seating options!
