The books that we need will help my students grow their skills in reading expository texts. They will learn to read a variety of non-fiction text structures, analyze author's craft, determine main ideas and supporting details, summarize, and synthesize learning across texts, all while feeding their curiosity about their world. With this project, I hope to light some change-maker fires in my young researchers! These very books will provide my students the opportunity to develop critical skills in research, skills that will be necessary for their generation to solve the many problems they will face in their future. Informational literacy is the key they will need to do it.

About my class
