My students are learning how to read in English and Spanish. They love listening to stories. By having a reading center for them I can have more time to devote to my other students in small groups. This will help them hear stories they may never hear at home because their parents are Spanish speakers and may not know how to read in English. Also, they may not have the money to purchase books for their children to read. So, they are disadvantaged to say the least because they don't have materials at home. To help create my dream I have always wanted a Read along listening center. Most schools do not have the money to purchase this for our classroom. Many of the books teachers purchase come out of our own pockets. This will be a great asset for my students who are learning to read. This will allow them to hear English and have a book to follow along. This will truly be a dream come true for me and my students if you will help us purchase a read along listening center.
