My students sit at collaborative tables in the classroom. Each table sits 3-4 students, and has a computer equipped with internet. If each student had their own pair of headphones, they could hook them up to splitters (which have been previously donated). This would allow each student to hear the lesson, story, tutorial, song, etc. at their table with their table group. As of right now, the collaborative table computers are not being used to their potential because there is no sound. Understandably, if all five tables had sound coming from their computer, it would be inaudible due to the differences in program or starting time. Thus, the learning environment could be improved substantially with the addition of headphones for each student. The table computers with headphones could be used in so many ways, many of which I'm sure my students would teach me about!
