Students will be put in groups and be given 8 challenges to work on. If done correctly, each challenge will give them a code to open a lock on the box. If done incorrectly, they will have to go back and work through the challenge. Escape room activities are fun because it gets students to work together in groups, solve problems, and listen to others ideas and mathematical logic. The challenges are differentiated based on topics and ability levels of the groups. Having the students open the physical locks instead of doing digital escape room is much more exciting for the students. They are on technology all the time and this gets them excited to see a box that gets opened and look for what will be inside! These boxes and locks can be used over and over again for various escape room challenges throughout the year.
