I am in my first year of teaching in a small school district where teacher classroom budgets are limited. My class sizes tend to range from 23-30 kids on average and I do not tend to have the necessary amount of materials for my students. I have put as much of my own money as I can into my classroom, but have not been able to provide my students with calculators or whiteboards, which we would use fairly often in class. I also lack space for the calculators as well as my own dry erase markers to help teach my class. I believe these materials would be a huge difference-maker in my classroom as students need to learn to use calculators for classes they will encounter in the years to come and to also adapt to technology in the classroom. I tend to run a very interactive and engaging classroom where I love to have student involvement regularly and the whiteboards would be a fantastic way for students to work out problems and hold them up/erase when necessary to fix mistakes. As a new teacher, it would mean the world to me if I could have these materials for my classroom so I could watch my students succeed. Nothing would be more rewarding to me.
