Our team has adopted the Ron Clark Academy's music, movement, and magic approach to learning. We delicately balance direct instruction and traditional learning experiences with collaborative projects/games, room transformations, historical rap battles, and intentional choreography/movement. If students learn in an environment that keeps them engaged and excited, they will be eager to arrive at school consistently and promptly. With advancements in educational technology at an all time high, we hope to immerse students in augmented and virtual reality experiences that can broaden their understanding of curricular content, while also expanding their global and cultural awareness of the world around them. Merge Labs, Inc. has a variety of resources tailored toward integrating augmented and virtual realities into the classroom. Merge has a vast collection of applications compatible with their Merge Headset and Merge Cube: Use cellulAR to analyze plant, animal, bacteria, fungal and protist cells in the palm of your hand! With Galactic Explorer, students can learn about our solar system, while taking close look at each planet, their moon(s), and the sun! Mr. Body, AnatomyAR+, and AR Medical allow students to examine the heart, lungs, brain, and other vital organs in the human body! Explore DinoDigger to reveal the geographic patterns among dinosaur species and dive deep into the rich history, just like a paleontologist! Study historical artifacts and uncover their historical, geographic, and cultural significance with Museum Viewer and Explorer. Create holographic dioramas that depict historical events and represent cultural values of various populations throughout history and society today using CoSpaces! Through music, movement, and the additional touch of magic from AR/VR learning experiences, we strive to create a learning environment that leaves children yearning to see not only what new surprises await them each day, but what new knowledge awaits them, too!
